Promotion Overview
Introducing the Haunted Film Extravaganza. This is a week-long online event made for horror fans. Every day, we’ll feature a different horror movie and post trivia questions about it on social media. Participants can answer the trivia questions for a chance to win prizes and interact with other horror enthusiasts. Each correct answer gives participants an entry to win a daily prize and a shot at the grand prize at the end of the week. The event ends with a live-streamed finale. This live will feature a horror movie marathon, special guest appearances, and a final trivia showdown. Fans can join the live stream to compete for the ultimate “Horror Fan Bundle,” which includes horror collectibles, streaming service gift cards, and tickets to a horror convention.
The event's main goals are to grow our brand’s social media following, boost engagement, and bring horror fans together for a fun and interactive experience. Success will be measured by tracking participation in the trivia, social media engagement, new followers, and attendance on the live stream. For the daily prizes, I think horror merchandise like t-shirts, posters, and gift cards would be good to gift. All participants who answer at least one trivia question will get a small reward, like a discount code or digital wallpaper. By hosting the Haunted Film Extravaganza, we’re giving horror fans an exciting way to enjoy their favorite genre while connecting with our brand.
Promotion Webpage

When designing this webpage for the Haunted Film Extravaganza, I wanted to create a spooky feel while making everything easy to use and understand. I chose a dark color scheme with grays, blacks, and purple because it fits the horror theme. The header includes trees, bats, and a graveyard to add to the haunted vibe and make it clear right away what the event is about. I made the red “Register” button stand out in the middle of the page so it’s easy to spot and encourages people to sign up. I chose red because it grabs attention and creates a sense of urgency. Above it, I added a countdown timer in a bold, spooky font to build excitement and remind visitors how soon the event starts. I broke down the main parts of the event—“7 Days of Horror,” “Amazing Prizes,” and “Live Finale”—into sections below the timer. I kept the descriptions short, like “Daily movie screenings and trivia challenges,” so people can quickly understand what’s being offered. This way, visitors can get the important details without being overwhelmed. To keep the page simple to navigate, I included a menu bar at the top with tabs like “Event Details,” “Movie Lineup,” and “Trivia Content.” I also added options like “Community Hub” and “Support” to make the event feel more interactive and to help users find assistance if needed. At the bottom, I added a footer with links to policies to make the site look a little more professional. Overall, I focused on creating a fun and easy-to-use design that would get people excited about the event while helping them find all the information they need.

Logo Overview
When designing the logo for the Haunted Film Extravaganza, I wanted it to feel spooky and fun while clearly representing what the event is about. I used bold, sharp-edged fonts to give it a creepy, haunted look that fits the theme of the event. The year “2024” was placed at the top to clearly identify this year’s event, which helps establish it as a recurring annual celebration. For the main part of the logo, I included a film reel and clapperboard to show it’s a movie-themed event. I chose a circular layout to make the logo easy to fit in multiple settings, like on websites, social media posts, and merchandise. The dark color scheme with contrasting orange and purple highlights was intentional to keep the logo spooky yet eye-catching. These colors work well on both light and dark backgrounds, ensuring the logo is able to be used for digital and print usage.

Logo Usage Guidelines:

-
The logo must always be used in its full design, including the text, the monster, and the clapperboard elements. No part of the logo should be removed or altered.
-
The original colors must be preserved. Use the black, gray, orange, and purple version on light backgrounds and the white, orange, and purple version on dark backgrounds to maintain its spooky appearance.
-
To ensure the text remains readable, the logo should not be scaled below a size where the “Haunted Film Extravaganza” text becomes unclear.
-
Always maintain enough space around the logo to keep it visually impactful. Avoid placing other text or images too close to the logo.

Haunted Film Extravaganza reserves the right to update these guidelines or modify the logo as needed. Any unauthorized or incorrect use of the logo may result in action to protect the event’s branding.
Overview of the Client's Color Set
When designing the promotional materials for the Haunted Film Extravaganza, I tried to chose the color scheme to get the perfect balance of Halloween spookiness and excitement. The primary color I used is a vibrant orange to symbolize traditional Halloween themes like pumpkins and autumn leaves. It creates a sense of energy and grabs attention immediately. The secondary color I used is a deep purple, which adds a mysterious and eerie tone, which complements the orange. The accent color is a muted gray, which I included to provide a neutral balance and help other colors stand out without overwhelming the viewer. I used primary and secondary variants like black and white to maintain flexibility, especially when using the design for light or dark backgrounds. The red accent variant was used for the "REGISTER" button to draw immediate attention. The combination of colors enhances readability and directs the viewer's eyes to certain elements that stand out more while sticking to the event's spooky theme.

Overview of the Client's Selected Fonts

For the logo, I used New Rocker because it fits the spooky and dramatic theme of the Haunted Film Extravaganza. Its sharp and bold style reminds me of classic horror movie posters. This makes it perfect for setting the tone of the event. It also grabs attention and matches the Halloween vibe.
For the website, I combined New Rocker, Skia, and Rockwell. I used New Rocker for the countdown to match the logo and keep the spooky theme consistent. I used Skia because it is a clean and simple font that makes the countdown numbers and promotion information easy to read. Additionally, it balances the boldness of New Rocker. As for the font, Rockwell, I used it for its bold, solid look, making the "REGISTER" stand out and feel important/urgent. Each font was chosen to fit the theme while making sure the text is easy to read and looks exciting. The mix keeps things interesting but still works well together.
Sources of Inspiration

Netflix’s bright “Get Started” red button inspired the bold "Register" button on my homepage. I noticed how Netflix uses this button to immediately catch the viewer’s eye and make signing up easy. I wanted my button to have the same effect, drawing attention and encouraging visitors to register without hesitation. The red color stands out against the dark background and makes it clear that it’s the most important action to take on the page. This design choice keeps things simple and ensures that users know exactly where to click to join the Haunted Film Extravaganza.

The way Amazon organizes its products into clean, grouped sections influenced the layout of my homepage. On Amazon, these boxes make it easy for customers to find what they’re looking for, and I used this idea to group my event features into sections like “7 Days of Horror,” “Amazing Prizes,” and “Live Finale.” Each section is clear and focuses on one part of the event, helping visitors quickly understand what’s being offered. This structure keeps the page organized and user-friendly, making sure information is easy to find without overwhelming the viewer.

Traditional Halloween decorations inspired the overall spooky theme of my logo. The use of orange and black, along with the creepy font style, mirrors classic Halloween elements like jack-o’-lanterns, spider webs, and haunted houses. These colors and styles immediately create a Halloween vibe and connect the logo to the holiday. Just like Halloween decorations make people feel festive and excited for the season, I wanted the logo to instantly give off a fun but spooky feeling that matches the theme of the Haunted Film Extravaganza.

The New Year’s Eve countdown inspired the big countdown timer on the homepage. During New Year’s celebrations, people feel excited and eager as they wait for midnight, and I wanted to create that same feeling on my website. The timer serves as a visual way to build anticipation for the event. It reminds visitors that the Haunted Film Extravaganza is coming soon and gives them something to look forward to. Adding this feature helps create excitement and makes the homepage feel active and engaging, which encourages people to explore more or register for the event right away.

The clapperboard in the logo was inspired by its connection to the world of movies and filmmaking. Since the Haunted Film Extravaganza focuses on films, the clapperboard ties directly to the theme. It also acts as a recognizable symbol for movies, helping people quickly understand what the event is about. Including it in the design makes the logo feel professional and relevant to film production. By combining the clapperboard with the ghost, I was able to merge the film and Halloween themes into one cohesive design that represents the event perfectly.

The playful monster designs in Monsters, Inc. inspired the purple ghost character in my logo. The monsters in the movie are meant to look a little scary but also friendly and fun, which is the exact vibe I wanted for my logo. The ghost adds personality and makes the logo more engaging while still keeping with the spooky theme of the event. By using a character that is not too frightening, I aimed to make the event feel welcoming and exciting for everyone, just like the approachable monsters in Monsters, Inc. make their world entertaining.
